Description
The papaya fruit is generally oval or pear-shaped and can vary greatly in size, ranging from small fruits of about 300 grams to large ones weighing several kilograms. When unripe, the skin is green, and the flesh is firm and pale. As it ripens, the skin turns yellow to orange, and the flesh becomes soft, juicy, and vibrant orange, pink, or reddish in color. At the center of the fruit is a cavity filled with numerous round, black seeds, each coated with a gelatinous layer. These seeds have a sharp, peppery taste and are sometimes used as a spice or in traditional remedies.
